Basically, IDRAC is a hardware-based solution that provides out-of-band management capabilities, which means that IDRAC can be accessed and controlled independently of the Dell server’s operating system and CPU. IDRAC consists of a dedicated management controller that is integrated into the motherboard of the servers. IDRAC controller has its own processor, memory, and network interface, which allows it to operate independently of the server’s primary CPU and network interface. The IDRAC controller also has its own firmware and software stack, separate from the server’s operating system and applications. That’s why IDRAC allow Systems Administrators to update and manage Dell servers, even when the server is Powered off Condition.
